How we work

Five stages from request to delivery. Each shows what the customer provides, what ETIKO does and what the customer receives.

01 Request

The customer sends

  • Description of the goods, number of packages, weight, dimensions and type of packaging.
  • Loading and delivery addresses, preferred dates.
  • Incoterms, if already agreed with the counterparty.
  • For dangerous goods, the UN number, class and safety data sheet (SDS).
  • For oversized cargo, drawings with the center of gravity and lifting points.

ETIKO

  • Before work starts, the parties sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
  • Checks whether the data is enough for pricing and asks for what is missing.

The customer receives

An agreed transport brief: what, from where, to where and when.

02 Planning

The customer sends

  • What matters more: time or cost.
  • Site restrictions: warehouse hours, availability of a dock, crane or forklift.

ETIKO

  • Chooses the mode of transport or a combination of modes.
  • Builds the route and checks restrictions: dimensions and weight, driving bans, dangerous goods rules.
  • Determines the permits and documents needed on each leg.
  • Calculates cost and transit time.

The customer receives

A quotation: route, transit time, cost and list of documents.

03 Documentation

The customer sends

  • The foreign trade contract, commercial invoice and packing list.
  • Certificates and licenses for the goods issued in the cargo owner’s name.

ETIKO

  • Prepares transport documents: CMR, bill of lading, air waybill or rail consignment note.
  • Applies for special permits where the route requires them.
  • Prepares customs clearance for export, transit or import.

The customer receives

A complete set of documents for each leg before the cargo leaves.

04 Transport

The customer provides

  • Cargo ready for dispatch at the agreed time.
  • Loading at its own site, if the contract says so.

ETIKO

  • Supervises loading and securing to the agreed plan.
  • Arranges an escort where the permit requires one.
  • Clears customs at the borders.
  • Reports to the customer as the route stages are passed.

The customer receives

The cargo moves on the agreed route, and the customer knows which stage it has reached.

05 Delivery

The consignee

  • Receives the cargo and checks the number of packages and their condition.
  • Signs the transport document and records any discrepancies in it.

ETIKO

  • Arranges unloading, if the contract provides for it.
  • Closes transit customs procedures.
  • Hands the original documents to the customer.

The customer receives

Signed transport documents, closed customs procedures and an invoice for the completed shipment.
